OOPPPSSS!!!

I just noticed I made a huge mistake.  I posted items for our IDADEE web site here instead of on their blog.  I guess this gives you all an idea of what is happening at the orphanage.  I'm sorry, but yet, I'm not.  I do enjoy the 40+ kids there and will do all I can to help them!!!

So, BLESSINGS and May your Holidays be blessed beyond measure!!!

The Christmas Holidays

First and foremost I need to apologize for not keeping up with the blog here.  We have had some major medical conditions in our home that took us away.

But we ARE BACK and working fine now.  I am so excited to share with you the Christmas letter for IDADEE and also a letter directly from the IDADEE president!!

First~ From Mr. Remy Fils-Aime:

From the desk of Remy Fils-Aime, IDADEE President,

The problems in Haiti have hit IDADEE in many ways.  One of those is the cost of fuel.  Gasoline was $2.59 US a gallon, it is now almost $11 US a gallon.  Making it almost impossible to get to town for supplies.  Food has increased quite a bit.  Each item is different, but it has all gone way up.  The manifestations have caused problems even trying to get to town.  We find it very difficult to get supplies of any kind.
We had planned to open our trade school in January of 2020, but now, because of the inability to get supplies, it has been put off.  We do not know when we will open.  There have been no teams staying at the Joshua House, so that income has stopped, also.
Our area hasn’t had many problems, but our school had closed for a whole month because parents feared sending their children.  We are now open after meeting with the parents, and the children do not have to wear uniforms.
Two of our men, Vilbrun Martin and Amos Celian, had gone to Port au Prince to study.  They have now returned and Vilbrun is now in charge of the orphanage and Amos will now be the head of the trade school.  We are happy to have them taking these positions.
IDADEE has purchased more land, (12 acres) to use for agriculture. Food for the Hungry has helped us get the area fenced in.  They are now studying the soil, so we can get the correct items to plant.  We have also prepared one area for bananas.  And we have started planting in small pots, to sell to others, to help them start gardens.  And, we now have a motorcycle.
The trade school will be opened first for the young adults from the EBAC orphanage, and for some young people in the IDADEE area.  After we have become established, we will open it for anyone to come.
We want to build a gym and cafeteria for the school and the orphanage, and for the community, too.  We have started to purchase some of the material to start this project.
I took some of the children with me to Port au Prince for 2 weeks, to experience life in the capitol city.
On December 22nd, we will have our yearly party for our workers, the orphans, and the IDADEE committee and their families.  We are all looking forward to this time of fellowship and sharing.
Thank you for your time, your prayers and your support.  We pray for you and ask you to keep us in prayer also.  Our Lord is answering prayers for us, and we know it’s because so many of you are holding us up to Him.
Matthew 18: 5  “and whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
And now, the Christmas letter to share:

Greetings from IDADEE!!

We wanted to send our thanks and let you know how things are going at IDADEE through this troubled time in Haiti.  We praise the Lord that our compound is off the main road and is far enough away from all the problems that we don’t feel a lot of the turmoil most do.  Our area is pretty quiet.  Oh we’ve had a few problems, but nothing like the problems the news reports other places.

We did have to close the school for a month, due to threats.  But we are up and running again.  The kids just aren’t wearing their uniforms right now.  The whole situation has made buying and getting food here, difficult.  But we praise the Lord, He has seen us though.  And we pray He will keep His Hands on us and keep us safe.  Please pray with us for the country to settle down and get back to normal.
The kids are doing well.  We praise the Lord for that, too.  Although IDADEE has the hospital and doctors near us now, we haven’t had to use them.  But we are so thankful that  many are being helped there, through both the clinic and hospital.
The kids are growing, not only in stature, but in the Lord as well.  It is a joy to know these young children are being brought up in the knowledge of who Jesus is and what He has done for each of us.
This last summer a camp was help at IDADEE.  There were 800 children in attendance and 200 leaders to teach, train and play with them.  You can imagine the fun time that was.  It was an exciting time for everyone.  And spreading the Word of the Lord through this, reaches not only the children, but their families.  The kids go home so excited and share what they have learned.  Pray with us that lives will be changed and families come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
For now, we'll close and again say THANK YOU.  For your prayers, support and for being a part of our ministry in Haiti!!
In the Love and Service of the Lord,
The IDADEE Committee

An added note....I hope to post pictures of the children again soon!  Blessings!!!
